Satellite
Post involves electronic transmission of data from one place to another, using computer terminals
connected trough VSAT. At the delivery centre, a hard copy of the document (printed matter in
English) is delivered to the addressee using Speed Post Delivery network. Data can also be
delivered on floppies. Also there is provisions for address delivery to more than one
adressee provided the sender also gives a pin coded mailing list along with the document. The
service is available at all VSAT Post Offices and ESMO offices.
Booking
Text or other material contained in standard DOS formatted floppy diskettes will
be accepted. The diskettes will be returned to the sender after the document is copied on the
computer available at the counter. On Request and prescribed payment the transmitted date
can be delivered on a departmental floppy, in which case he has to pay for the cost of
the floppy.
If the sender is unable to provide the text material on a floppy diskette,
arrangement will be made in the Post Office for transferring the data from a document on to
a floppy diskette at an extra charge. Only small text data can be accepted. The customer has to
satisfy himself about style and accuracy, before the data is transmitted.
MESSAGES FOR MULTIPLE ADDRESSEES : Messages addressed to a multiple addressees in
a town should be on a floppy which should also contain a PIN Coded mailing list.
CHARGES: Charges will be accepted in cashand credited in UCR. Separate
arrangements to regular custmer may be made by Heads of Circles/Regions.
