Philatelic Bureaux

Philatelic Bureau is a part of the Head Post Office which deals with the sale of philatelic items and provisions of philatelic services. But all the head post offices do not have Philatelic Bureaux. Only the Principal Head Offices at certain selected district towns, important from the philatelic view point, have been authorised to have philatelic bureaux.

Philatelic Items

Items available for sale at the Philatelic Bureaux ,  Counters and authorised offices 

1. Stamps , Special Cancellation and First Day Covers too are available at the Philatelic Bureaux/ Counters.  

2. Information sheets of Brochures containing a brief write-up on the subject, design, technical data of the stamp, cancellation, name of the designer of the stamp. FDC & Cancellation, is also available at the counter.

3. Collector’s Packs:  Containing a set of commemorative/ special postage stamps issued by the Department during the preceding year.  

4. Thematic  Packs : All stamps issued on a particular theme are prepared and sold.

5. List of Indian Postage Stamps : A prepared list of postage stamps Issues India since 1947.

6. Files for publicity leaflets giving advance publicity of stamps proposed to be issued by the Department.
